July Prayer Newsletter

Streams is in full summer mode with fun programming and activities for the whole family. As we head into July, join us in lifting the following requests to our Heavenly Father:

• Food Center: Summer has brought an increase in the number of families in need of food assistance. We are averaging around 530 families a month this summer. Pray for God to provide the resources and food to serve each family.
• Tutoring: We praise God for a good start to summer tutoring. Pray for each student and tutor. Pray for the students’ confidence to grow and for good attendance.
• Summer Community Nights: Praise God for a good turn out at our first community night. We are grateful for the volunteers and organizations that participated. Pray for the community to continue to engage in the community nights in July and August.
• Streams ‘U’: Praise God for good fellowship during book club. Pray for wisdom and guidance as we plan a finance class this September. We are excited to offer a one time self-defense class in July. Pray for good attendance.
• Literacy Class: Praise God for the neighbors participating in the Literacy Center classes. Pray for continued learning and engagement as the class continues into July.
• SWAG (Middle/High School): SWAG has relaunched this summer with exciting new plans. Pray that students will engage with the new structure and that both boys and girls will attend.
• With neighborhood kids out of school, we pray for safety and that they engage in healthy and productive activities on their break.
• Even though school is on break, Streams still has many summer programs taking place. We thank God for his wisdom and provision in this season. Summer can be a difficult time to fundraise. Join us in praying for God to provide the needed funds to carry us to fall.

• Food/Diaper Drive: Our food center numbers have increased as donations have decreased. We are in great need of food and diapers. If your church, small group or organization would be willing to do a diaper or food drive, let us know! Reach out to makalah@streamsgr.org or heidi@streamsgr.org for more details.
• Food Center Volunteer: We are in need of another volunteer to help in our food center on Thursday evenings. If interested fill out the volunteer application here or email heidi@streamsgr.org for more details.
• Donations: Despite the school break, summer is still a busy season at Streams. We continue to benefit from your generosity and support. If you or your church feel called to help out by giving financially, go to https://streamsgr.org/donate/ to learn how.
