Our New Community Playground

A burst of excitement has taken over the Streams campus with the arrival of our brand new playground. It’s not just about fun – this playground brings with it a chance to strengthen our community and spread joy throughout the neighborhood.

Our mission has always been clear: to provide much-needed programs and relationships to the Townline area that support education, health, and food security. However, we have always been limited by a lack of space. Now, with the brand new building, we can dream bigger than ever before. This summer, we brought our dreams to life with a playground!

Step one for creating this playground was all about the design. Our youngest neighbors came to the Streams campus and got creative. By tapping into their playground ideas and sifting through their fantastic drawings, we got a glimpse of what would make the ultimate playground for the community. With the help of Amway and Kaboom!, a nonprofit on a mission to make playspaces available for everyone, we transformed those ideas into reality.

Amway donated their time and strength to help us out. On a hot day in August, more than 120 Amway volunteers came to the Streams campus bright and early to lay the groundwork for the playground. Within just a few hours, the community’s dream playground was complete with slides, a mini rock wall, swings that soar, and a zipline that’s all about safe, playground-style adventure.

The playground is about more than running around and having fun. It serves as a safe haven for kids to learn and grow, while also giving our neighborhood families a taste of the wonderful resources available at Streams.
