October Prayer Requests

The school year is off to a great start here at Streams, with many programs underway. We thank God each day for the ability to be a part of our community and interact with our neighbors. As we enter October, join us in lifting the following requests to our Heavenly Father:

• Food Center: Pray for God to continue to provide the food and volunteers necessary to serve our community. Pray for each family we serve and the many different challenges they face.
• Tutoring: Our tutoring program starts back up this week. Pray for students and tutors to build good relationships. Pray for students to learn, grow, and build their confidence.
• SWAG: Our middle and high school students continue discussing a variety of topics and enjoy time together. Pray for students to be engaged and build good relationships. Pray for the program to be a safe space for students to learn and have fun.
• GEMS: We are grateful for a great kick off to GEMS. Pray for girls to enjoy getting to know one another and be reminded they are loved. Pray for continued growth in this program.
• Thrive: Praise God for the start of another group of our financial empowerment program. Pray for each participant and their families. Pray for more volunteers to step forward to help with childcare.
• God continues to work through Streams in our community. We thank him for providing each step of the way. We praise God for the support of our generous donors. Pray for God to continue providing the necessary financial resources to continue our programs.

Current Needs

• We’re Hiring: We are looking for a part-time warehouse specialist for the food center. This person assists in cleaning and stocking the Food Center, participates in food deliveries and pick-ups, and assists in organizing the warehouse. To view more information and apply, click here.
• Double Your Impact: We are excited to announce that any donations from now until December 1st will be matched by The Carls Foundation. If you are able to contribute to Streams, your gift will have double the impact. Use this link to donate. Be sure to select “Match Gift Campaign” as the “Type of Tribute” on the form. • New Church Opportunity: We are blessed by our new space and would like to use it to bless others. We are inviting churches to utilize our education spaces for leadership meetings. You can bring your elders, deacons, staff, etc. to Streams for your meetings. We will give you a quick tour, provide refreshments, and then allow you to use one of our education rooms for your meeting. We hope that sharing our space in this way will provide an opportunity for leaders to see Streams, and also provide churches the chance to meet away from their normal spaces. • Freezer Meals: Our freezer is getting low and we are in need of more freezer meals to serve at our weekly programs. If you, your small group, or church are able to make and drop off freezer meals we would greatly appreciate it.
